Below, you’ll find brief bios of our team members and board members, highlighting their expertise, experience, and passion for our work. Each brings unique skills and perspectives that contribute to our collective success.
Joey Vandever
ProTeam Foundation President
Joey Vandever was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. In high school, he played baseball, football and basketball, but it was on the baseball field where he shone the brightest. He played junior college at Southeastern Illinois University where he was named Captain and “All-American Outfielder” as a freshman and broke the junior college stolen base record in 1999. As a Division 1 Baseball player on the nationally-ranked team at the University of Evansville, he was named an All-American Outfielder and broke the school’s stolen base record in 2001 with 62 stolen bases.

In 2002, Joey was drafted to play Major League Baseball by the St. Louis Cardinals, and continued to succeed on and off the baseball field. During his rookie year with the team, he led the league in stolen bases, broke the minor league stolen base record in 2003 and maintained a batting average of .320.
Joey holds his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Evansville. Following his professional sports career, Joey held roles with companies as vice president, regional manager and a trainer. He has worked in the medical and financial fields.
With Joey's close familial ties to the first responder community, he is passionate about providing access and premier resources to the men and women who protect and serve our community and is able to do this through his leadership of the ProTeam companies he leads. Now with the establishment of the Foundation, greater goals of giving back are the priority in his professional life.
Joey and his wife Sarah live in Avon where they are raising their three sons, Cannon, Carson and Caleb. They enjoy watching competitive sports together as well as having quality family time.​
Tim Drudge
ProTeam Foundation Vice President
A healthcare provider for over three decades, Tim has unique experiences across the sports medicine and healthcare continuum, including providing care for collegiate and professional athletes, and leading hospital-based sports performance programs before helping establish ProTeam Tactical Performance (PTP) in 2018. Tim serves as the Director of Operations for both PTP and ProTeam Wellness, and is part of the ownership group of ProTeam Wellness.
Prior to ProTeam, Tim was an assistant athletic trainer at Illinois State University and the University of San Diego, served as Director of Team Medical Services for the Big Ten Football Championship (2011-2017), Co-Medical Director for the 2001 World Police and Fire Games, President of the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association, and was the first Licensed Athletic Trainer to serve in the NTT IndyCar Series.
Jim Sorgi
ProTeam Foundation Treasurer
Jim Sorgi was born in Detroit, Michigan. He attended Fraser High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. After high school Jim attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison on a football scholarship.
Jim was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2024 NFL Draft. He spent seven years in the National Football League, six years backing up Peyton Manning before joining the New York Giants to take on the same role for Eli Manning. After his NFL career, Jim was a member of the Indianapolis Colts radio broadcast as the color commentator for 8 years.
Jim is the Co-Founder of ProTeam Tactical Performance and ProTeam Wellness. These companies were founded with the mission of providing the heroes of the first responder community with the resources to be at their very best physically and mentally. Jim has family ties and deep respect for first responders and believes it is extremely important to protect those that put their lives on the line to protect us.

Jim now resides in Pittsboro, Indiana with his wife, Lana, and their three sons, Jimmy, Jack and Jace. If you ask Jim what his favorite and most rewarding job has been, he would say being a dad.
David Smith

David, a native of central Indiana, grew up in the area and attended Brownsburg High School. During his time there, he actively participated in Soccer and Track. While playing soccer David gained a unique understanding of musculoskeletal injuries when he tore his ACL, MCL and meniscus.
David would choose to pursue an education at Indiana University where he was a member of the Student Athletic Board and majored in Public Administration and Non-Profit Management. David gained valuable experience through internships in sports marketing at Conseco, Inc., and the Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium.
Following his graduation, David ventured into Sales with a medical device startup based in Salt Lake City. After learning the intricacies of medical sales, he transitioned to a role at Bosma Enterprises, a nonprofit in Indianapolis. During his 13 years at Bosma, David progressed from an entry-level Sales Associate to the Chief Operating Officer.
Later, David transitioned to the private sector by joining Medline Industries, a prominent medical supplies manufacturer and distributor, as the Vice President of National Accounts in the DME division. In 2021, he was recruited by ProTeam Co-Owner, Jim Sorgi, to lead the expansion efforts and enhance brand recognition beyond the Central Indiana Market. Under David’s guidance, ProTeam is embarking on a national expansion with new clinics in NW Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky.
As a father of three boys, David finds joy in coaching his sons in various sports activities. In his free time, he serves as a stadium public address announcer for local sporting events. David and his wife, whom he met at Indiana University and has been married to for nearly 20 years, enjoy long walks on the beach. With family members in the fire service and law enforcement, David has a personal commitment to supporting and aiding first responders in leading healthy and fulfilling lives, both now and in retirement.
Beth Walters was born and raised in Sandusky, OH. Beth attended school at The University of Toledo and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training with a minor in Exercise Science, followed by Springfield College obtaining a master's degree in Athletic Training with a focus in Post-Secondary School education. Lastly, Beth completed her Doctor of Education in Leadership Studies with a cognate in healthcare leadership.
Beth has been a Certified & Licensed Athletic Trainer since 2012 and her passion to serve others has allowed her to find success throughout her professional career in a variety of roles. Beth has a passion for helping others, serving, and making a positive impact on her patient's lives for the long-term. Through her strong teaching background, she capitalizes her educational approach with her patients to empower them through their healing journey.
In her most recent role as an athletic trainer and professional development coordinator for ProTeam Tactical Performance and Executive Director with ProTeam Foundation Beth has been able to apply her passion through organizational leadership to collaborate with key stakeholders and others who champion first responders in securing wellness resources to agencies nation wide.
Outside of her professional ties to first responders, Beth has family ties to the Marines, Army and Navy through family members who have served in these branches. Beth is also a daughter of a decorated police officer, Mark Dahlmann, who served the City of Sandusky Police Department for over 20 years. Beth's closeness to service-minded individuals and first responders, she sees the value placed in finding effective ways to support the men and women, who protect and serve us each and every day.
Beth resides in Noblesville IN with her 2 daughters that she adores and enjoys spending quality time with and hopes to demonstrate strength, balance, and passion in everyday life to both of them.
